REFERENCE SECTION (Bldg. H - 2nd Floor)
Adjacent
to the Filipiniana Section is the Reference
Section of the Main Library. It has a
growing collection of reference materials such
as encyclopedias, dictionaries, yearbooks,
handbooks, almanacs and other related materials.
There are about 2,637 volumes of Reference
materials which are all intended for room use
only.
HRM books are also housed in this
section. It has a total of about 153 HRM volumes of local and foreign
titles, all of which are classified as
Reserved books.
This
section also services an on-line inquiry to
researchers who need quick reference
information.

SERIALS SECTION (Bldg. H - Ground Floor)
The
Serials Section is maintained at the second
floor of the Main Library. It shares the floor
next Reference and Filipiniana Sections. It
keeps various professional journals, magazines
both popular and to technical, daily newspapers and
vertical file materials including newspapers
clippings and pamphlets. Resources on this
section are for room use only, however they can
be photocopied for reference purposes only.

ACQUISITION SECTION (Bldg. H - Mezzanine Floor)
The
Acquisition Section handles the evaluation,
selection and purchase of books either from
local or foreign markets.
Acquisition
is a continuous activity of the library.
The activity is based on the curricular course
offering of the University and the needs of the
faculty, students and staff with emphasis on the
weak subject areas of the curriculum to ensure a
well-balanced collection.
CATALOGING
SECTION (Bldg. H - Mezzanine Floor)
The
Cataloging Section is housed at the mezzanine of
building H. It takes charge of the
bibliographic description and classification of
all the books that are acquired for the library.
Bibliographical
description of the books follow that of the
Anglo American Cataloging Rules while
classification conforms with the Dewey Decimal
Classification system.
