AGREEMENT ON COOPERATIVE EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE

 
 

UNIVERSITY BELT (U-BELT) CONSORTIUM ON LINKAGE

This Agreement made and executed by and between the members of the UNIVERSITY BELT (U-BELT) CONSORTIUM ON LINKAGE whose members are the following:

ADAMSON UNIVERSITY • LYCEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES
ARELLANO UNIVERSITY •  MANUEL L. QUEZON UNIVERSITY
CENTRO ESCOLAR UNIVERSITY • NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
FAR EASTERN UNIVERSITY •  UNIVERSITY OF THE EAST
FEATI UNIVERSITY  •UNIVERSITY OF MANILA
JOSE RIZAL UNIVERSITY   •UNIVERSITY OF SANTO TOMAS

WITNESSETH:

        WHEREAS, the members of the U-Belt Consortium agree to cooperate in regard to exchange programs based upon the   principle  of reciprocity.

        WHEREAS, this agreement permits the exchange of scholars, faculty, professional staff members, and academic among the signatory institutions. By the establishment of such exchanges, the     instructional and research activities in all the member institutions will be enhanced and will facilitate greater mutual understanding among the U-Belt scholars and students.

         WHEREFORE, consideration of the foregoing premises, the members of the UNIVERSITY BELT (U-BELT) CONSORTIUM hereby   covenant:

    I. To promote the following exchange activities based on their respective academic and educational needs:

              a. Exchange of scholars (professors, advanced graduate fellows, and/or researchers) and                              professionals staff members;

              b. Exchange of students (graduate and undergraduate);

              c. Exchange of information and academic materials;

              d. Organization of joint research programs, including their publication in academic and professional journals;

              e. Organization of joint continuing education activities and trainings for faculty staff.

 II. The implementation of each exchange based on this agreement shall be separately negotiated as determined by the        schools concerned and efforts shall be made by all parties to find financial and in-kind resources for implementing the        specific exchange programs.

III. Nothing in this agreement shall in any way diminish the full autonomy of each concerned party nor shall constraints be         imposed by either party upon the other in implementing this agreement.

IV.  This agreement shall last five years and shall be reviewed and evaluated after this period. Termination  by any member        of his membership in the U-belt Consortium shall not in any way affect this agreement. Any member who desires to        terminate his membership shall give three (3) months advance notice in writing to the consortium. Such action shall not        affect programs under way at the time of termination.

V.   This agreement shall take effect when the representative of each university has signed in the respective spaces below.

                          IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have signed this AGREEMENT in the City of Manila, Philippines.

           The University Belt Consortium Research Journal is published annually. The refereed articles published in this journal are         selected from among the completed research projects of academics within the individual member institutions of the University       Belt Consortium. Each issue focuses on an aspect of a wide range of shared academic, community-based, and quality-of-life       concerns and advocacies of this organization of the Philippine universities.
